About Bulwul Balaang - Strong Young Koori Women::
Is a holistic program designed by and for Young Koori Women in the Shoalhaven.
Bulwul Balaang delivers a number of outcomes for its clients including healthy lifestyle changes, strengthening of community, building support networks, profiling young Koori voices, and social and emotional well-being support and improvements. The holistic, relationship-based model of Bulwul Balaang enables it to address numerous health, education and social related issues, while providing opportunities and pathways to Waminda’s & other health, education and clinical services to support these clients.
A holistic service providing:
· Young Koori Women’s Group (After school program)
· In school program
· Health checks / health promotion
· Case Management / mentoring
· Employment preparation
· Cultural activities / yarning
· Drop-in & outreach
The Bulwul Balaang team has a Youth Worker, Youth Social Worker & a Program Support Worker. Our team are experienced and qualified to tailor to the needs of our clients
What we do:
Bulwul Balaang is a culturally safe space for young Koori women to gather and take part in cultural, yarning, nutrition, life skills & gym activities, outreach, mentoring and drop-in services at Waminda’s Plunkett Street centre. Our In School program provides health information sessions regarding sexual health, health checks, healthy relationships, relationship building, living healthy lifestyles, cultural identity and peer relationships (in schools). We provide Case Management, developing monitored case plans and referral pathways.
Who can access Bulwul Balaang?:
Young Koori women aged 12 - 24 yrs living in the Shoalhaven area.

Drop into our centre at 79 Plunkett Street, Nowra - Mon - Fri 9 til 4:30.
