MINGA GOODJAGA ‘MOTHER AND BABY’
Minga Goodjaga meaning ‘Mother and Baby’ is the maternity services program within Waminda - South Coast Women’s Health and Welfare Aboriginal Corporation.
Minga Goodjaga provides holistic midwifery care within a safe and nurturing environment. The aim of the program is to empower women by providing the best available evidence in midwifery education and culturally safe services to enable women to make informed decisions about their pregnancy.

CONSULT WITH OUR MIDWIVES
Consultations with our Midwives and Aboriginal Health Workers are available on Mondays to Fridays from 9:00am - 4:30pm.
Walk-in patients are welcome to see one of our Midwives or call us to make an appointment.
Transport is available for Waminda Services only. Please call in advance to book - Local 24 hours notice / Non - local 48 hours notice
SCHEDULE OF VISITS
During your pregnancy, you will see a Midwife (and/or GP) for the following visits:
• Monthly visits up to 28 weeks pregnant
• Fortnightly visits up to 36 weeks pregnant
• Weekly visits up to birth
• Doctor at hospital if past due date
• Postnatal check ups as needed up to 6 weeks after birth (including breastfeeding support and baby weighs/checks
MIDWIVES RECEIVING AND RETURNING TELEPHONE CALLS AND RESULTS:
If you call the practice and need to speak to your Midwife the reception staff will take down your details i.e.: name, contact number and a brief outline of your requirements if appropriate.
Waminda encourages all clients to make a follow up appointment to receive test results and discuss them with the Midwife.

PLACENTA AND TREE PROGRAM:
Women who are cared for within the Minga Goodjaga Program are offered a Bottle Brush Tree.The Bottle Brush tree is used for different purposes during and after pregnancy.
